Asalato Mute is for the dedicated players who because of their  enthusiastic practice, received feedback from their neighbours about the quietness concern.

With Asalato Mute, you can practice your latest tricks with a volume that is nearly unnoticeable.

The balls are made of cork and are extra durable.

The length of the high quality string is adjustable for hands of different sizes.

This is the go-to product if you want to practice everywhere.

Meet the asalato:
Two little balls on a string that turn your fidgeting into a full-on rhythm show. Think of it as a pocket-sized groove machine from West Africa that somehow manages to be a stress ball, musical instrument, and coordination coach all at once. You shake it, swing it, and let the balls clack together, and suddenly you’re making beats that sound way more professional than the amount of effort you’re actually putting in.

Traditionally made from natural gourds or nuts filled with seeds, the asalato has leveled up over time into versions made from wood, plastic, and other modern materials, but the recipe stays the same: two balls, one string, endless chaos (the fun kind). It goes by many names—kashaka, cas cas, kes kes, patica, “that two-ball thingy”—but no matter what you call it, it’s ridiculously addictive to play.

To use it, you hold one ball in your hand, let the other one swing around it, and try to pretend you totally meant to hit that perfectly timed click on the beat. With a bit of practice, you can stack shaker sounds and sharp clacks into surprisingly complex rhythms, and once you bring in a second asalato for the other hand, you’ve officially entered “how are you even doing that?” territory. It’s great for musicians, rhythm nerds, or anyone who wants to upgrade from nervously tapping their foot to doing something that actually looks and sounds cool.

Bonus: playing asalato secretly trains your brain and body at the same time—hand–eye coordination, timing, focus, all getting a workout while you’re just vibing and making noise. The repetitive motion and sound can be surprisingly calming too, which means this tiny instrument doubles as a low-key meditation tool that you can also use to flex on your friends when you nail that crazy fast pattern.

*Sold in pairs for 2 hands. (4 balls)
